"Wigwams were comfortable"

S Simpson - Stayed with friends, Jul 2019

We stayed here on our cycle ride along Hadrian's Wall Cycle Route. We had a rest day and explored the 'Wall' as Vindolander is close by as are other sites.

The campsite is small, really well maintained and the facilities were modern and seemed to be kept clean. There are no activities or entertainment as it is not that sort of campsite, but there is a small farm attached which was great and my seven year old could help feed the animals, and there is also a small playground. There is a decent pub a short walk away, and there is also the town of Haltwhistle. We visited the Sill which is a kind of visitors centre for the local area and Northumberland national park, and different bits of Hadrian's Wall. Vindolanda which was a Roman village near the wall is amazing.

"Another great stay"

Mr D Clayton - Stayed with family, May 2019

We love staying at Herding Hill because it is clean, tidy and laid back. They don't allow loud music or excessive noise after a certain time which for a family with little kids is brilliant. They don't allow loud music or excessive noise after a certain time which for a family with little kids is brilliant. The kids love the animals on site, and the staff are friendly at feeding time. You are a stones throw from the best Hadrians Wall attractions in the area. The washroom facilities are always clean and tidy and the wigwam we stayed in was very well maintained. My only suggestion from our entire stay is that the doors of the wigwams could do with a catch to hold them open. Will definitely visit again and would recommend to anyone (who when camping is happy to respect those around them).

"Cycling Hadrian's Way"

Mr I Pearson - Stayed with partner, May 2019

We stopped over for 2 nights in a Wigwam as part of cycling Hadrian's way. We really liked the site and the wigwam. Our only comment would be that we had to pay extra for crockery each night and it would have been useful if this was included.

The showers are amazing and so clean and kept maintained. We have a Wigwam with water and hot tub and honestly worth the extra payment. Then gentlemen came every morning to test the water and clean the tub. On a night it's so so beautiful hot tub glass of champagne watching the sunset and the stars honestly is an amazing experience.
