"Glen of tranquility indeed"

Glendaruel, is far enough off the beaten track to really feel away from it all....but reasonably accessible to make it a realistic short break from central Scotland. The Glen is a slice of secluded Scotland......but with good amenities close by....if needed. Plenty of great beaches and walking. Campsite quiet....few more toilets and showers are on the way as well and more covered washing cooking areas....which will just perfect an already great place. We took the wee lodge...dog friendly....and away from the caravans with nice open views. Definitely a place to return with much unexplored.....

"nice place to stay"

Mr Blaudums - Stayed with family, Sep 2016

My GPS caused a bit of mess when arriving, though there is a visible sign on the road. There are two properties located each to another. Neighbour was kind to to help to find the right one. Stay was excellent, cosy, clean and very well insolated bungalow

We stayed in one of the newly installed bothies - two adults, a child and a small dog. The bothy was very comfortable - warm, soundproof and clean. We had a nice view and would hardly know that we were on a campsite from our bothy. The bothy itself had a fridge, kettle, toaster, lights and power points. It also had a useful covered decking area outside - all we could ask for. The campsite itself was well arranged and looked after and had lots of interesting walks right from the door. The proprietor, Annie, could not have been more helpful and friendly - from helping us get our vehicle out of the mud to booking us in for dinner at a local restaurant and suggesting places to go for the day, despite all of the other jobs she had on her hands. A really genuinely friendly and helpful lady. We would love to stay here again and would certainly recommend it. Only two minor points, which could make it absolutely perfect: - There were only two showers for the ladies and one for the men. I actually didn't have to wait for my shower, but my wife and daughter did and I imagine at busy times it could be more of an issue. - We had no wifi for the two days that we were there. This may have just been a one off and I know that Annie was trying to fix it, but as we also had no mobile reception (on Three, I believe other networks are better there) it meant we were cut off, which is not always a bad thing, but would have liked to be more easily contactable as our son was away on camp at the same time. All in all a very enjoyable stay and thank you Annie for all of your help and chat.
