Howe of Torbeg is a small campsite in the heart of Royal Deeside & the Cairngorms National Park. Small is beautiful - set in just 1 acre of land, surrounded by open farmland and birch woodlands, we offer tranquil camping in style.

Our 3 Cosy Glamping Pods, Robin, Redwing & Rowan, can each be configured as Double or Twin & are the perfect simple glamping option. Fully insulated & double glazed, with electric light & heating - all the benefits of camping in a gorgeous location with none of the fuss. Relax around the fire...star gaze...sit back and soak up the sounds of the river and the gorgeous views!

Get a great night's sleep on comfy futon beds.

All bedding, linen & blankets, & towels are provided.

Pods are fully lockable and secure.

Each Pod has a small deck area outside + its own picnic bench, camping chairs and Kadai cast iron fire pit with a griddle for cooking on. (Logs & charcoal available to buy on site).

The Wash House is our fully heated shower block, with 2 self-contained large, clean & modern shower rooms, each with low flush loo and sink. Our showers are gas powered, providing you with lots of lovely hot water on demand 24/7.

Two covered outside sinks are available for washing up, also with free hot water. And our drinking water is pure, UV filtered, Scottish Spring water from half a mile away up the hill - it doesn't get fresher than that!

Our Snug offers a small communal space with a wood burning stove and oven, and a selection of books & games.

Our shared Tea Shack has a small gas stove & kettles for making hot drinks.

Camping crockery packs, BBQ utensils, and other useful bits are available to borrow on site, and there's a wee shop selling firewood, charcoal and some other bits & pieces.

Completely unplug - there is no Wi-Fi at Howe of Torbeg (although there is a phone signal!)

Perfectly located in the Cairngorms countryside, & only 5 miles from the picturesque village of Ballater with its shops, restaurants & cafes. A fantastic base for exploring Deeside and the Cairngorms, whether you are hiking, biking, sightseeing...or just chilling out and enjoying the views.
