Set in an elevated position in a scenic area just outside Keswick, Castlerigg Hall enjoys exceptional panoramic views of Derwentwater & Bassenthwaite Lake set against a dramatic backdrop of the surrounding fells.

The glamping pods are a small timber hut with a wraparound roof, all very well insulated with sheep’s wool in the walls, and with a special foil layer under the tiles to help keep summer temperatures in check. There’s good head height and plenty of light from the double-glazed lockable french doors which, together with a small high rear window, provide a good through draft. Also provided is a electric socket, lighting and a Heater. All in all, it’s a brilliant substitute for a tent!

Castlerigg's amenities include a bathroom for having a good soak; a well stocked shop for all essentials; a laundrette for washing your clothes and a campers kitchen for campers and glampers to prepare and serve meals.

There is plenty of places to see and activities to do on your glamping break in Keswick. Take a cruise around Derwentwater, catch a production or enjoy a festival at the Theatre by the Lake, enjoy some optical illusions at the Puzzling Place or have a fun-filled day out at the Go Ape tree top adventure experience. You can be sure there is plenty to keep you entertained on your glamping holiday in the Lake District.

Me and my partner found this site very easily on the internet and everything about the glamping pods looked beautiful and just to my and my partners taste, we only stayed for the one night but however we’ll soon be back there as the location on its own is stunning the staff are so friendly and welcoming we were happy to sit outside our little home with a cup of tea for the night, I would highly recommend Castlerigg hill to anyone I know. Very quite and cosy get away.

From the minute we arrived at the gate until we drove out on last day everyone was so friendly and helpful. We stayed in a family pod, used the campers kitchen to prepare and eat our food on the warm and made use of the fantastic lounge in the evening, comfy sofas and a lovely room to read and relax. Views on a clear day are great. Will definitely be returning in the future

We've been visiting for many years now and stay in a pod. We love the site, accommodation and the surrounding area. However, we do feel that each year there is an increase in price, which is to be expected. However, since the site no longer has an onsite restaurant and there's not been any additional amenities added except more pods and fancier accommodation, which is not family or dog friendly it seems unfair to increase the prices. Also, it would be nice if regular customers were offered a slight discount for rebooking. It would also be nice if there was an enclosed dog area so dogs site could be let off the lead. Over all we do enjoy our stay but I think things could be improved.

Stayed in a pod to introduce my wife and son to camping. Castlerigg Hall and the pod exceeded all expectation. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly, the facilities are very modern and extremely clean and the location is perfect. The Pod was very clean and larger than expected. (Camping pods are the future of camping.) We are already looking at booking a return stay at Castlerigg Hall. Highly recommended.
