Set in an elevated position in a scenic area just outside Keswick, Castlerigg Hall enjoys exceptional panoramic views of Derwentwater & Bassenthwaite Lake set against a dramatic backdrop of the surrounding fells.

The glamping pods are a small timber hut with a wraparound roof, all very well insulated with sheep’s wool in the walls, and with a special foil layer under the tiles to help keep summer temperatures in check. There’s good head height and plenty of light from the double-glazed lockable french doors which, together with a small high rear window, provide a good through draft. Also provided is a electric socket, lighting and a Heater. All in all, it’s a brilliant substitute for a tent!

Castlerigg's amenities include a bathroom for having a good soak; a well stocked shop for all essentials; a laundrette for washing your clothes and a campers kitchen for campers and glampers to prepare and serve meals.

There is plenty of places to see and activities to do on your glamping break in Keswick. Take a cruise around Derwentwater, catch a production or enjoy a festival at the Theatre by the Lake, enjoy some optical illusions at the Puzzling Place or have a fun-filled day out at the Go Ape tree top adventure experience. You can be sure there is plenty to keep you entertained on your glamping holiday in the Lake District.

"Little piece of heaven..."

I want to give a bad review, why? Because this campsite is a little piece of heaven. Cumbria has become my bolt hole and this site offers perfect views and excellent facilities at more than reasonable prices. The only thing is too many other people stay here, so it's really difficult to book more than a couple of days consecutively. I want to move in permanently!

Mostly we have camped but have also used the campervan pitches, stayed in a static, and a pod. All of the facilities are top notch, all done tastefully to a high standard. The site is very well maintained. All the staff and owners are lovely and helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone. The views are amazing, and lovely surrounding areas. Our children also love it and it has a safe, peaceful vibe. Will look forward to our next stay.

Returning holiday maker to this wonderful site. Amazing views, wonderful facilities and lovely staff. What’s not to like. This time we stayed in a Camping Pod with our little dog.....her first trip to the Lakes (she loved it of course). The staff are friendly and welcoming and the facilities spotless. Already looking at returning later in the year (if we can get availability, they're always very busy and no wonder!). Thanks to all for making our visit a truly memorable and enjoyable experience.

"Pods were very poorly equipt"

Castle rig halls are very poor and the web site should have been more specific as to what was or wasn’t there. There is basically nothing inside. Most pods have 2 bench’s inside to put at lest two camp beds on. A small table to put a kettle on would be beneficial and at least two chairs in door or out door. Some sort of hook to attach a dog lead outside on the deck would be helpful as well. We turned up with camping equipment but had a very uncomfortable night. The site is lovely and well kept we have stayed several times previously in a tourer. It would cost nothing to provide a couple of chairs or benches.

"Great holiday"

Mr B Buckley - Stayed with family, Oct 2018

Tried a Pod for the first time. Had a great adventure with the grandchildren. Certainly at the end of season the pod is a much more robust, warm and comfortable proposition than a tent.

"Quality family time"

Mrs L Luckock - Stayed with family, Oct 2018

We had a brilliant couple of nights here and got to enjoy some quality family time. Was a little disappointed with the quality of the food on offer in the restaurant but it filled a hole.

"Great location and facilities"

Mr M Flynn - Stayed with partner, Oct 2018

The campsite is perfect for what we needed (pod for 1 night). Low maintenance, great facilities and excellent location for walks around Derwent water. Have stayed here before and will stay again.
