Set in an elevated position in a scenic area just outside Keswick, Castlerigg Hall enjoys exceptional panoramic views of Derwentwater & Bassenthwaite Lake set against a dramatic backdrop of the surrounding fells. The camping pods at Castlerigg are the perfect location for glamping breaks in the Lake District.

The glamping pods are a small timber hut with a wraparound roof, all very well insulated with sheep’s wool in the walls, and with a special foil layer under the tiles to help keep summer temperatures in check. There’s good head height and plenty of light from the double-glazed lockable french doors which, together with a small high rear window, provide a good through draft. Also provided is a electric socket, lighting and a Heater. All in all, it’s a brilliant substitute for a tent!

Castlerigg's amenities include a bathroom for having a good soak; a well stocked shop for all essentials; a laundrette for washing your clothes and a campers kitchen for campers and glampers to prepare and serve meals.

There is plenty of places to see and activities to do on your glamping break in Keswick. Take a cruise around Derwentwater, catch a production or enjoy a festival at the Theatre by the Lake, enjoy some optical illusions at the Puzzling Place or have a fun-filled day out at the Go Ape tree top adventure experience. You can be sure there is plenty to keep you entertained on your glamping holiday in the Lake District.

We’ve stayed before and we think your site is perfect!we did however coma across a slight problem this time with the flooring in the pod. It was some kind of Lino, it looked great but when we put our air beds on it , every time we turned or slightly moved during the night it made a really big noise and woke us up! It was a shame as everything is perfect on your site so maybe go back to the carpet u had in before as we didn’t have any problems with that!

"1st time glamping"

Mrs L Allington - Stayed with partner, Jul 2019

1st time in a pod for us, so was pleasantly surprised with it. Spacious enough and wasn't expecting an elec socket in it. Site was kept very well, and the toilet and shower facilities were excellent

"Simply Great"

H Botman - Stayed with family, May 2019

Great site, great views, very neat facilities, superb lounge and kitchen, extremely friendly staff. Small remark: the pod was a bit small compared to pods on other sites, but nice to find a heater!

The site was clean, well maintained and once again the views took our breathe away! Staff were very friendly especially the lady who works in the shop and the gallery (didn’t catch her name). We were disappointed the restaurant had closed as this time round we had a dog and a baby. It would have been nice to have somewhere close to eat. We can’t wait to come back again next year!

"Great place and people"

Miss L Fielding - Stayed with family, Apr 2019

We stayed just one night but could have stayed a week. The facilities were modern, extremely clean and plentiful. We had a pod and it's just enough for a family of 3 (4 would be fine as well). Will definitely be returning.

My daughter and I hired a pod at this site and were quite impressed with its elevated location and proximity to the excellent shower/toilet facilities. We were disappointed that the site restaurant was unable to provide food during our stay. The site has excellent views over Derwent Water and is very close to Keswick. It was also nice to have the use of a small kitchen for making toast and hot drinks and a facility for freezing ice blocks. We would like to return to this popular site another year.
