Camping Pods - Camping without the tent

Suitable for Families WIFI Available Pet Friendly Instant Booking

Our brand new camping pods are timber built and insulated, taking away the stress of packing and unpacking a tent. The family pods can comfortably sleep 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults (dimensions 2.7m x 4.4m). They have double glazed doors and window, electricity and a wall heater.

The pods are completely empty so you will need to bring camping gear, minus the tent. However, there is a picnic bench outside the pod.

Situated in the heart of Wasdale, arguably Cumbria’s most majestic valley, Church Stile Holiday Park and Campsite offers visitors the most spectacular location from which to explore and enjoy the Lake District.

Nestling in an idyllic oak woodland setting on a traditional Lakeland sheep farm, the area is a haven for wildlife with stunning views to the mountains. Yet the pretty village of Nether Wasdale with its 2 wonderful country inns serving hearty meals and fine ales, is only a two minute stroll away.

Wasdale is home to England’s deepest lake, highest mountain and smallest church and yet the wonderful beaches on Cumbria’s coastline are only a few miles distant. Whether you wish to simply enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this unspoilt valley or take advantage of the many opportunities for walking, climbing, cycling and kayaking or visit some of West Cumbria’s many attractions, Church Stile is your perfect location.

Things To Do while glamping in Wasdale in the Lake District

Wasdale is one of the big mountain valleys of the Lake District with the stunning scenery making a wonderful backdrop for your glamping holiday. The valley is home to England’s highest mountain (Scafell Pike), deepest lake (Wastwater) and smallest church (St Olaf’s). Church Stile lies at the heart of the valley in the pretty village of Nether Wasdale making it the ideal base for your holiday.

Wasdale offers wonderful walks both on the high fells and valley bottom. Wasdale head is nearby leading to Scafell Pike (977 m) and Great Gable (899 m) while others such as Yewbarrow and Kirk Fell are also easily reached.

Lying just 1 mile from Church Stile, Wastwater Lake, England’s deepest lake allows kayaks, canoes and rowing boats. There are numerous places to picnic or swim. The view across the lake was voted ‘Britain’s Best View’ in 2009.

"Wonderfully clean and friendly but the pod facilities lacking"

Mrs K Hawkins - Stayed with family, Sep 2018

The campsite is great. Lovely green, large pitches, clean facilities and a wonderfully stocked shop/cafe. The staff are super helpful and friendly too. We hired a pod which was also spotlessly clean. The staff are super helpful and friendly too. We hired a pod which was also spotlessly clean. However, it desperately needs at least some hooks and small shelves. I understand that it is camping with everything but the tent, however, a tent at least has pockets where you can put keys, hang a light or put your toothbrushes. Where do people hang their damp clothes?! The lights are very bright so unusable after my daughter went to bed or when going to the toilet in the night. The green space outside Pod 2 is less that you'd get with a camping pitch. It's great to get a picnic table though. Anyway, we did have a lovely stay and I hope our feedback helps!

My only concern was in an emergency there was no defrib on site visable or advised of, with no mobile signal you may have to leave a casulty to get help. I suppose that is the price you pay for such a remote and beautiful setting. Would highly recommend this camp site.

We wanted to walk up Scaffell Pike as we have recently completed our Gold DofE, we found this campsite and noted that we could stay in a pod. We decided to stay in a pod instead of camping because it was only slightly more expensive, we were very glad we did. The pod was a lot bigger than we first thought it would be and the 3 of us easily fit inside along with all of our stuff. Overall the staff and facilities at the holiday park were very clean and we would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

"Peace in the mountains"

E Lagor - Stayed with family, Aug 2018

A pretty, quiet site with clean amenities. Nestled amongst the mountains there is no phone signal the pod was a good size and value for money. A well equipped farm shop was a bonus on site and a tasty pub within 5mins walk was the icing on the cake
