Meet the owner

Nigel Eades, 56, took early retirement five years ago after a successful career in the IT industry, managing multi-million-pound international projects for major banks, oil and travel companies and credit card organisations. Nigel is living the dream as his life journey and career have taken him from Seattle to West Wales. Now, in retirement, he has swapped globetrotting and a stressful life for the peace and tranquillity of West Wales.

His passion for Wales goes back to his childhood when he spent many family holidays in Pendine Sands, Saundersfoot and Tenby. Determined to live in Wales one day, he traded his home in Sutton Coldfield for Cardigan Bay and scenic Mid Wales.

“I was once managing an IT project for Boeing in Seattle, now I am the bingo caller in our village,” joked Nigel. “If I ever write my autobiography, it will be entitled ‘From Boeing to Bingo’. I was lucky enough to enjoy every minute of my working life and I am now enjoying every minute of my retirement. Best of all, I made my boyhood dream to live in Wales come true. I am very fortunate to live where I do and I can’t think of a better place anywhere in the world.”

Angharad is a romantic five star shepherd’s hut in an idyllic, riverside spot at Abermeurig, near Lampeter. Angharad has become the first shepherd’s hut in Ceredigion to be awarded Gold accreditation by Visit Wales as a quality assured glamping site with plans afoot to further enhance the visitor experience in 2019.

From the hut you can explore the local countryside and the surrounding area, with activities and places to visit to suit everyone. Step back in time and enjoy a digital detox while staying in Angharad. Relax, unwind and enjoy the simple things in life. Nigel continues, “We enjoy sharing our love of Wales with others and promoting all that Wales has to offer. We have a strong advocacy of Wales and all things Welsh and encourage our guests to explore what this beautiful area has to offer from local fishing harbours, mountains, castles, National Trust properties and much more.
