Are you impetuous, looking for fun with friends, but frustrated by a lack of funds? A spontaneous glamping weekend with mates could be the answer. Glamping can be a cheap holiday you can actually afford to do with your mates. Even if you’re on a lowly student budget, living on cheap beer and Pot Noodles, glamping can be almost as cheap as staying at home (and a whole lot more fun)! All you need are a few similar-minded friends and a “Let’s do it” attitude and you could be having a whale of a time on a group glamping break. Not every holiday has to start with an expensive flight and not every weekend break has to include air-conditioned rooms in a five star hotel. “Life is what you make it” wrote Preeti Shenoy, and so too is a glamping holiday. Here’s a step-by-step guide to organising a glamping holiday with a bunch of friends and not much cash!
How to organise a cheap glamping holiday with friends
First, decide what type of glamping unit you want to sleep in. Glamping Pods and Bell Tent Glamping is usually the cheaper option. Then decide whether you want a seaside glamping holiday or an away-from-it-all wild glamping experience near national parks with stunning scenery and only a few sheep to object to late-night campfire karaoke. Browse our hundreds of glampsites, either by unit type ( Glamping Pods, Safari Tents, Tipi Glamping Yurt Glamping etc.) or destination and see how little glamping holidays in the UK can cost (especially when you share the price with your besties).
Next, text your mates to see who’s up for a few nights of fresh air and fun on a group glamping escape and get ready to enjoy the Great Outdoors on a shoestring budget.
Once you have decided who is going on your glamping trip go to Glampsites.com to find and book your glamping trip. Checking availability is easy; narrow down the options by entering your destination, date, number of nights and number of glampers before pressing search. Our website will throw up all the available options with prices for comparison (BTW that low price is the TOTAL AMOUNT for the whole of your stay, not per night or per person!) You could be enjoying three nights in the Yorkshire Dales for under £40 or enjoying glamping overlooking the Pembrokeshire Coast for less than £50 per night. Shared between four friends, that’s about the price of a meal out, and a lot more fun! Showers, toilet blocks, hot water and even microwaves are usually provided and some glamping sites have added luxuries such as hot tub glamping, fire pits and pizza ovens.
Share the costs for budget glamping
Once you’ve booked the glampsite, plan the route. Share the cost of petrol (it won’t be much if you stay local) and look forward to a fantastic glamping holiday on the cheap. Arrange for everyone to bring food for the group for a couple of meals, some drinks and snacks to share, and your fun glamping weekend will be a winner. Look forward to days of hiking and exploring, beach sports and evenings back at the glamping site making your own entertainment. As darkness falls, look up for a beautiful sunset. After dark, you’ll see more stars above your rural glamping site than you ever knew existed. Share jokes and stories, sing songs and play games before snuggling down in your glamping unit for the best night’s sleep under the stars.
Glamping in the UK may be cheap, but hanging out and having fun with friends is priceless!
